Detail : She caught fire while tied to McPherson & Crane's
wharf for the night. After her hawsers
burned through, she drifted to Brown's wharf, where she threatened to ignite
the entire waterfront. An American skipper and his mate was later cited for bravery after the mate swam to the burning vessel, tied a hawser
from his vessel - the steamer ROCHESTER - to her bow, then hauled her away from
the pier to prevent the fire from spreading. Owned primarily by Capt. Harrison
